The 28th EFPT Forum (European Federation of Psychiatric Interns) was held July 1-5, 2020 in Bucharest, Romania. This year, due to a pandemic, the forum was organized online.

Satenik Sahakyan, member of the Armenian Association of Sexologists, Tatevik Khachatryan, Aneta Melkonyan and Ani Hovhannisyan, members of the Armenian Psychiatric Association, participated from Armenia.

Armenia has been participating in the forum for the third year in a row, and the participants are actively working in different working groups. Satenik has been engaged in the meetings and activities of the MENTA working group for 3 years (maintaining and creating the National Association of trainees). The purpose of this group is to help create national associations of trainees/young specialists in the countries that are not members of the federation
Tatevik also participated in the activities of MENTA, and in the CAP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) working group as well.

Thanks to their efforts, the “Young Psychiatrists Section” was restored, the function of which was to provide the information about seminars/programs among trainees and young specialists. In this regard, Armenia has applied to join the EFPT this year.  During the vote at the General Assembly of the forum, Armenia was accepted by all member states as a full member of the federation.

By becoming a full member of EFPT, our young specialists already have the opportunity to participate in a number of events organized by EFPT, to participate in exchange programs at universities and clinics in European countries, creating new scientific networks.
